- Decent for Southwest Michigan!
I always liked the atmosphere there when the place first opened a few years ago (the hotel is near fully sustainable), but the menu didn't offer much in terms of anything vegan other than the usual hummus/veggie/pita plate and a salad or two. However, that changed when my husband sent me a copy of the new menu, and I saw that vegans had their own small menu, along with lots of vegetarian options in the regular menu as well. I really liked their home made Falafel (would really like a vegan version of Tzatziki sauce, but maybe in due time). It has a potent kick to it and there are three patties there, so it's a nice sized appetizer. Their veggie stir fry was my favorite because of the orange marmalade sauce; that, and it wasn't greasy or oily at all. I think they steam the big chunks of seasonal veggies. Every time I am in Holland I will be visiting there. There are other restaurants a block away with vegan options, but I think the view and modern comfort level in there has no competition nearby. Now, if I could just convince ownership to have vegan breakfast options during their Sunday brunch, we'd be on to something! I did suggest almond milk pancakes, but I think it fell on deaf ears, lol.
