- Excellent hot pot
The place is exactly as in the description. The only caveat - there is NO ENGLISH SPOKEN. They do have a limited English menu available for the included appetisers, but it doesn't elaborate much in terms of ingredients (many are not vegan). That said, the hot pot is delicious and there are many items on offer, including several mock-meats (you may want to check if these are vegan - but they seem to be the ubiquitous Taiwanese versions which are mostly vegan). It is run by a sweet lady, who is very patient even in the face of non-mandarin speaking westerners such as myself. The quality of the food is consistent and I make a point of going here at least once a week. The tea is high quality, fragrant and delicious. As mentioned in the description - you can create whatever you like. While not necessary - If in doubt, my advice is to bring a Chinese speaking friend... or your vegan passport... or at very least have a translator and Pleco (or similar app) loaded on your phone. If you like vege/vegan hot pot - it's a no-brainer and is in my opinion far superior to the hot pot available at Jen Dow (Jing'an Temple). The price at the time I write this is ¥88.00 for unlimited hot pot, tea and appetisers.
