I love eating at 222 during the day - the lunch buffet is reasonably priced and there is a good selection of carefully made, tasty and nutritious dishes, mostly gluten free. However, the menu doesn't vary much, and the food is consistent rather than inspiring. The smoothies are amazing though and the raw cakes are perfection on a plate. However, I had a mediocre experience when I went to 222 for a Christmas meal in December 2014 with London Vegans. The organisation was very poor with over 30 minutes between people getting served, and the food was disappointing. Both soups were uninspiring, and while my main course was quite nice, my friend who ordered the meatless balls was served a depressing bowl consisting mainly of lots of spaghetti in bland tomato sauce, which seemed a let down considering how much we'd paid. Despite that slip-up I'll continue to visit 222 and take people there as it seems to be a hit with everyone who goes - when I was eating working lunches there back in May 2015 I'd often get into conversation with other lone patrons, and quite a few were omnivores enthusiastically praising the food, surprised by how good it was, and saying they were interested in going veg*n, so props to the chefs.
