- Well worth a visit
We made a two hour car journey just to visit Calf and it was well worth it. The food is really good. We had parsnip & carrot burger with delicious "proper" chips and salad, bean chili pie with chips and salad and luxury raspberry hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows! The only snag was that following the generous portions of the main course and the hot chocolate, we couldn't finish our hot choc fudge cake with cream - this was beautifully presented but we forgot to take a photo of it. A great advantage was being able to take our dogs into the cafe with us as usually we are restricted to chilly beer gardens or eating on the go! The cafe is behind the main road opposite the sea front, which is very handy and it's a stone's throw from a car park! We walked off our food with a long trek along the beach with the dogs (make sure you visit the beach out of season if you have dogs, otherwise they are banned, booo). All in all I'd say, if you haven't been to Calf Cafe yet - what are you waiting for?!
