- SAFE CHOICE
The restaurant is about a ten to fifteen minute walk away from the historical centre. The street is shown but not named on the free map handed out by the tourist office. It is the short street which runs between Avenida de la Facultad de Veterinaria (which runs along the river) and Calle Antonio Valbuena. Opening hours: Lunch: Monday to Saturday: 13.30 – 16.00 Dinner: Friday and Saturday: 20.30 – 23.00 Sunday closed all day The restaurant is an unprepossessing long room in traditional décor. Staff were pleasant. Lunchtimes there is a set menu: €13 for three courses, bread and a drink. For each course a choice of about eight dishes. Everything is at least vegetarian, some vegan. Menu in Spanish. Mostly a little dull (risotto, lasagne, seitan &c). I had lentil stew, stacked vegetables under goats cheese, a non-chocolate chocolate tart. Tasted alright. So, a safe place to eat if you are vegetarian – and I saw few restaurants in Leon that explicitly and obviously catered for vegetarians (Foodie on Plaza Mayor had a veggie-burger) - but nothing special.
