• Vegan/Vegetarian Gem in Coimbra

We lucked out on this one. We rented an apartment (Casa da Alta)around the corner from Bioescolha. It was a five minute walk. We were able to buy almond milk (they have rice, almond, soy and blends), chia seeds, dried fruits, nuts, fresh veggies and fresh fruits- all organic to make breakfast. We dined there for lunch on vegan sandwiches, kombucha and coffee with almond milk. We were so excited to find something we ended up ordering a Mediterranean salad, mushroom empanada, lentil empanada, vegetable soup, dessert and a wrap to take with us for dinner that night and for a picnic the next day. Everything was so tasty. The empanadas were pre-made and were perfect for our picnic. There were so many options, it was hard to choose! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great organic grocery store with cafe'. Made our stay in Coimbra a perfect one!
