- The meat-eater's vegan choice
We had dinner at Coox & Candy yesterday, and it was pretty good. Something not pointed out in the other reviews is that many of the meals are built around meat alternatives like seitan medaillons or mock seafoods, which are available at organic groceries and are basically served there with a sauce and sides (this applies for example to the seitan medaillons, which exist as a ready-made product, or the paella, which consists of ready-made vegan shrimp etc). In itself this is really good - it makes the restaurant a very good choice for people who insist on traditional meat-eaters meals. It might limit the creativity a little, but whatever. What we ate: lots, because the servings are big. Tempeh skewers, seitan steak, a bean burger, hash browns, a kind of soy-yoghurt/mash potato mix, which was really good, tiramisu, which was also great ... it was all good. Make sure you reserve in advance for dinner, the place is fairly big, but fills up quickly. Updated from previous review on Sunday September 06, 2015
