- One of the best in Sao Paulo
I've been going to Goa restaurant since 2008, most recently in September 2015, and it has been consistently one of my favorite places for lunch. It's a sit-down restaurant, not a buffet (like so many other lunch places in town). They typically have 2-3 appetizers and 3 main courses, all for a set price (including tea or juice and dessert on weekends). Vegan and gluten-free choices are clearly indicated. On my most recent visit, 2 of the 3 main courses were vegan, as were both of the appetizers and one of the desserts. The food was very tasty - my group of 3 ordered each of the dishes and I was able to try a bite of each. They were all excellent, as has been the case on my past visits. Portions were sufficient - not gigantic, but just right. On my past trips to Goa, they offered seconds, but we didn't ask if this is still the policy. Bottom line - if you want to stuff yourself, go to one of the all-you-can-eat buffets. If you want a tasty lunch in a sit-down restaurant with a nice ambience, try Goa for lunch. Very creative combinations of spices and cuisines from around the world. As a side point, the name Goa implies Indian, but there is not an Indian influence in the food. Not that this matters at all - it's one of the best places for lunch.
