  • Good start

I went to Aurora a few weeks after it must have opened earlier this summer. The waitress was very friendly and told me that the owner used to run a Thai restaurant in this location, and decided to try out something new - a vegetarian restaurant, because it was kind of trendy! At first I was very confused when I entered, because its bistro-style looked very much like Seerose, the veg. restaurant that also used to be on Mehringdamm, but it is simply a copy/competitor (and Seerose has moved). There are options with cheese and without. The vegan meal was fine, maybe not totally otherworldly, but as a lunch place (which I think this place intends to be), it was ok. Still a bit of room for development when it comes to the details of vegan meals - more flavour can never hurt. But: it was fine. Probably cheaper than the competition around the corner.
