  • Falafel, Barcelona

I had the good fortune to stumble into this place before the shutters were even fully open to the public. It was quite interesting as the 1st customer as the people who ran the place took a lot of interest in what I thought of the joint. If you have ever been to a branch of Maoz Falafel then you know what to expect with this place - it is a complete clone of the operation. This is in terms of menu and food on offer, pricing policy, means of being served (ie hot food served by the person behind the counter and then you serve yourself from the salad bar) and layout fo the joint. I am a big fan of Maoz so I have to say the same about this place. The guy who ran the place said it would be open 365 days a year. Then when I went past it again 2 days later on January 1st I noticed the place was closed - even entrepreneurs need a day to sleep off the New Year celebrations I suppose. Very vegan vegetarian friendly. Very central only a few yards off La Rambla near Liceu metro.
