- Intimate, Tasty, Considerate
We were a party of three adults, one toddler, and one infant who needed a refreshing lunch on a hot summer's day. There is only one table that could accommodate 4, but it was available so we liked our seating. The staff had erected a decorative blind that trailed the floor, and when our stroller ran over it as we walked in, ripping it down, they blithely furled the blind, brushed aside our apology, and offered us a menu. I ordered the Texiterranean burger and was fascinated by the guac, falafel patties, mediterranean flavor profile (hints of mint and lemon). We also ordered the falafel sandwich (fine) and the portabello sandwich (excellent), all with side salads. For drinks, we indulged in 3 iced chais (yum!) and a berry smoothie (refreshing). This came to $60 without tip. The intimate interior means that the staff can be very attentive without leaving the counter. For example, they noticed when our toddler dropped his knife on the floor, and a clean one appeared (with a smile) before he had a chance to pick his up. Our only concerns are that the background music was a bit odd (we prefer the normal coffee shop fare of reggae and jazz classics) and that the bathroom has a rather gritty feel although it is clean. All in all, we would return in a heartbeat if the winds were to blow us into that neighborhood again.
