We had our first dinner here the night we arrived in Copenhagen and went back for brunch the day we left as we enjoyed it the first time. The staff were friendly and remembered us when we went back the second time, presenting us with an English menu. It's a 'shabby chic' kind of place with mixed tables and chairs and old record players and radios on the walls. On the Friday night there was mix of locals there for a drink as well as diners but it felt comfortable in accommodating both. Low lighting and candles on the tables added to the ambience; while at the brunch session there was a brighter, relaxed atmosphere and it was obviously a popular place. A DJ was playing some tunes but it wasn't too loud and provided some background music. Kalaset isn't a vegan or vegetarian restaurant and has a small menu, however the food they do is good. In the evening we had the 'Las Vegan Burger' which is basically a chickpea patty with some grilled veggies, salad, potatoes and their own home made dressings and sauce. Delicious. The vegan brunch 'Tante Vegan' was also fabulous and consisted of Moroccan lentil-ratatouille, falafels, grilled vegetables, small oven baked potatoes, hummus, olive tapenade, greens, fruits and bread, and a soy yoghurt with home made roasted muesli. The vegetarian 'Tante Green' option was similar but included dairy yoghurt and scrambled egg instead of the ratatouille. There was also some home made vegan jam, sauce and 'nutella' available at the bar. It certainly kept us going all day for the flight home.
