• Great Lunch Bar!

Dawson's is hard to beat for vegans and vegetarians who find themselves in Rockville for lunch on a weekday. The pay-by-weight lunch bar is really a treat. The prices are reasonable for the quality and variety of the food available, and every day there's fun variations on tofu and tempeh, salads, and interesting warm veggie sides. My sister and I are fans of the vegan ranch dressing too. Even better, they are environmentally conscious, providing reusable plates, forks, and glasses, and their eating area at the front of the store has free wifi (I'm using it right now to write this review). I came once on the weekend and the hot bar options were cut in half, but there were still a lot of solid choices. The store has an atmosphere similar to Whole Foods, but from my understanding it's actually independently owned. They periodically offer vegan cooking classes, and a weekly farmer's market during the warmer months. I've found the store's regular produce to be a bit expensive at times, but that's to be expected for this type of grocery store. Overall, a great find!
