  • Not veg, but sooo veg-friendly!

This restaurant is currently off the beaten path, what with the road construction that continues (probably for another year). Still, it's worth the trip! Although the decor isn't the best... that's the only bad thing I could think of! The owners are very nice people and welcome you warmly from your first step into the restaurant. If you have any questions or concerns about your veg needs, they are eager to resolve them. As a husband and wife partnership, they have their restaurant's best interests at heart. We were told that Mrs. So-and-So does all of the cooking, from scratch. So, easy to accommodate vegan requests. It helps when the staff have such in-depth knowledge of their food, customs, and ingredients. We ordered a selection of appetizers for all to share. Although we couldn't discern what everything was, they were a delightful deep-fried assortment with tasty chutneys. Onions, sweet potatoes, potatoes, samosas, etc. Also, the dosas here are easily the best I've ever had. Too often one will find the same "traditional" blend of ingredients: not a bad thing for dosas. To try a new combination of ingredients was heavenly! Go for the special dosa, you won't regret it! Sooo tasty! Nice lentil sambar soup too, perfectly spiced. The entrees were very good, but I did like mine more than others. They are served traditionally: with your dish in a small metal vessel and the rice on a large shared dish. Lovely, just lovely! They can adjust the heat as necessary and the ingredients. They aim to please at this place. All of us were pleasantly surprised that our expectations were met and exceeded. Definitely go here for traditional South Indian food (with the Malaysian flair from the Mr. and Mrs.'s residence in Malaysia). You will not be disappointed.
