• Healthy Eating Next to MUSC

As a vegetarian, I highly recommend HALO as one of the best cafes in the area for a herbivore. To begin with, they offer a great menu of vegetarian sandwiches and salads at reasonable prices. They have an amazing hummus wrap, which is loaded with lots of fresh ingredients like avocado and black bean corn salsa. Their veggie chili, which is vegan, is so delicious even my carnivore friends love it. They offer locally roasted coffee and a delicious bakery selection. I can't get enough of their pistachio muffins. The bar upstairs has a cool selection of local beers and tasty vegetarian appetizers in the evening. I love the veggie spring rolls and fried green tomato melts. Lots of outdoor seating on the patio or the upstairs porch. It's a great place to hang out with other folks from MUSC. Very laid back and fun atmosphere.
