Location : across the street from the JR train station Saga Arashiyama. There's a clearly visible sign on the building and a menu board next to the entrance . Take stairs to 3rd floor. Menu & ambiance: we came for lunch. There are 4 sets, with a delicious barley tea, soup, choice of rice or bread, chick pea galette , pickled veg. Western style tables and chairs, wide windows with a great view of the hills and the people strolling out of the station. It's an easy walk to sights in Arashiyama, such as the Ohkohchi-Sanso villa and garden, reached by the Bamboo Forest walkway.
