• Great food but far too slow

When the food finally arrived it was very tasty indeed. Had I not been so hungry and unwell it might almost have been worth the wait........ We arrived when the restaurant were busy with a large group, so waited over twenty minutes for orders to be taken and to get a drink. That's fine and these things happen, but we were then led to believe then that the restaurant was on top of things. We would not otherwise have stayed. Unfortunately not and after an additional 45 minute wait we queried the delay and were told 'just 5 minutes, its cooking now'. 20 minutes later and the chef then admitted he hadn't started our food yet as he was too busy. We would not have stayed and waited well over an hour and a half for food. We sought to explain to the restaurant that they should have given us the choice of whether to wait for such an unusual length of time and not just lied to us repeatedly. However, they were not interested and regarded it as 'not their fault'. We didn't even get a discount!!!
