I am writing this review to alert readers to some of the questionable business practices of Living Greens. I had gone there to eat several times because of my vegan diet. Echoing other reviews, objectively the food tends to be bland and slightly overpriced but given it is one of the few options I have for this type of cuisine I had become a habitué nonetheless. I went there yesterday, and the meal was like any other, except that when my friend went to pay for the meal, the owner had remembered us from our last visit (approximately 3 weeks ago), and asked us to pay 3.00 extra because her son had allegedly undercharged us during our last visit for a salad. My friend and I were stunned, paid the bill, and left. I will add that I was going to buy a couple of products there as well but being disgusted with their poor hospitality chose not to. This review is mostly for the owner of the restaurant. I was saddened that instead of being offered a bonus for being repeat customers who you obviously knew well enough to remember what we ordered during our previous visit, you offered us a penalty. It is never appropriate to ask a customer to pay for a bill from a previous visit. Could you imagine this occurring in any other profession? In teaching, for example, could you imagine a teacher coming back to a student a semester later and saying, “listen, I gave you an A but really it should have been an A-?” I can honestly tell you I will never eat in this restaurant again and have informed every Singaporean friend I’ve spoken to since the incident. I was dismayed by how petty and trivial a sum you’d be willing to throw away a customer relationship for; and honestly, maybe you were lying. In any case, it was quite galling on your part. In short, if you decide to eat there, be prepared for bland, overpriced food, and count your pennies carefully because these guys aren’t interested in their customers, there’s interested in the bottom dollar, even if it goes against their bottom line in the long run, as it did here—since you just lost at least two regular customers. Hopefully this review admonishes future customers and the restaurant discontinues doing stupid, illogical things like that.
