- Vegan food in Gijon
We tracked down the Puzzle Bar in Gijon for some vegan food. Although it was a quiet time of day, there was a nice buzz to the place. The place was quite funky and the clientele were mostly younger, trendy, hipsters. The place sells non-vegan food, but has a whole menu listing vegan.... hot-dogs, burgers, salads, that sort of thing. Our Spanish is embarrassingly poor, but the staff did a great job in translating the menu, helped out by friendly customers. We ordered a platter of vegan meat-subs, with salad and chips. Which arrived exactly as described - no thrills, nothing fancy, just nice simple vegan food, which with 2 local beers and a plate of olives, came in at €18 - a bargain.
