Some vegan ingredients are more expensive, but not all. I've made vegan scones before, and they did not need any specialty vegan ingredients. Even if the ingredients are more expensive, I doubt it justifies a 35% price increase from their regular scones. To me it seems like a vegan upcharge. I did not find the price of the scones justified the taste, and rated it so. It's fine if you did.
