We have just been let down by Lynn this weekend after having originally booked with her in 2020. Initially, communication was great but since early 2022 she has routinely dropped of the radar, not replying to any messages for a couple of months at a time. We expressed anxiety about this earlier in the year as she was impossible to reach at some point and in response she was really reassuring and said she was just back-to-back with weddings because of covid-related cancellations but that everything was in-hand for the day itself. 4 days before our wedding, she became totally uncontactable again and had still not confirmed many crucial details like the final menu, whether she had made a plan for a guest with allergies and what time she would arrive. The evening before, we started to find these reviews and Lynn had completely stopped opening our messages or answering her phone, so with no confirmation that she would even show up for the wedding, we came up with an emergency contingency plan for food with a local chef. When Lynn still hadn’t responded to any voicemails, missed calls, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook messages the night before, we told her not to come as we had already had to make an alternative arrangement and have now asked her for a refund. We’ve no idea what to do now as Lynn is still not opening any of her messages and we haven’t heard anything from her, so we are wondering if she ever had any intention of showing up. It would be great to help prevent this happening to other couples as the undue stress is causes is huge. We still aren’t sure if it’s a slick con, or whether post-Covid business has just become far too much to handle.
