I too know the bitter taste of disappointment you get when looking forward to eating at restaurant only to find it is closed, despite the listed trading hours. As the opening hours and other information on HappyCow is more often than not provided by the community, it can sometimes be inaccurate or outdated. I have gotten into the habit of double checking opening hours on the business’s website and/or social media accounts. Even then, owners don’t always advertise changes or unexpected closures immediately, so I’ve started calling ahead to ensure they will be open, especially if I am making a specific trip or if it is a long distance. Yes it’s slightly annoying to have to do, but a quick phone call can avoid disappointment.
