This is not what was admitted. Unless the restaurant broadened its appeal during a global crisis that has brought the entire industry to its knees it wouldn't exist in any format. Serving a menu that is still 95% vegan and veganisable for the rest of it is still a massive risk in current climate. Many other vegan restaurants in our town have been unable to reopen in any capacity. It is exactly this kind of nasty, narrow minded comment and attitude that have given the vegan movement such a bad name. I sent a thoughtful reply to a query outlining the economic pressures and readings that necessitated the change and also commenting that the previous restaurant would return when economic conditions improved, and this is the thanks I get. Trust me, if you are in it for the cash you don't run a gourmet vegan restaurant in a provincial town. What a sad way to treat businesses doing the best they can in such uncertain times.
