I last patronised them back in November 2018 with friends, and we had the same experience. It would seem that this is a systemic problem that has still not been resolved even after people have been complaining about it for many years. This was the review I left on Google Maps back then: "They don't seem to understand what "vegan" means, despite the many items on their menu labelled as such. We ordered a couple of briyani dishes (labelled vegan), and checked with them whether they use ghee in the cooking. They said they only use vegetable oil, not ghee. However, our dishes came with raita on the side and paneer in the rice itself, and when questioned on this the staff got defensive, telling us that we did not inform them beforehand that we could not take those items and that some other customers could. They also did not offer to replace the non-vegan dishes. We tried to explain to them that vegans do not consume milk products of any kind and told them to ensure that their vegan-labelled dishes do not contain any dairy, and they seemed to agree. However, a friend visited them subsequently and found that many of the a la carte dishes labelled vegan actually contain cream, which they apparently cannot replace or omit. What a shame."
