The best

This was definitely the best food we had in Minneapolis. My partner got a sriracha brat and we got Italian and Turkey Havarti cold cut sandwiches to go as well as a bunch of other meats to try. Everything was good, but the Italian cold cut was my favorite. I don’t usually like sausage kind of things but the Italian brats were good as well.

Great spot

When moving to Mpls, chose NE in part because of proximity to HB.

Pre-pandemic, they would weigh out your order and bag it up. Since the pandemic, they have only used pre-packaged sizes and started asking for tips, which doesn't make any sense because the employees are no longer weighing out your order or anything.

Can’t get enough of this place

Love the mouth-watering selections of all vegan brands of cheeses and meats. Any time I am near this place, I have to always stop by. One-of-a-kind. So many things to choose from; truly one of the best vegan shops around in Minnesota. 💕🌱 🧀 🍖

Stroopwafels, snacks and sauces, oh my!

In addition to deli meats & cheeses, there is also a very nice selection of hard-to-find vegan retail goods such as stroopwafels, fysh sauce and marshmallows.

The Hot Breakfast Sandwich had a nice maple-y taste and was quite large. It was both my breakfast and lunch and kept me full until dinner. Yum.

The gentleman behind the counter helped me purchase all of the ingredients needed to make the Italian Cold Cut Sandwich at home, and also told me what I needed to buy separately at the grocery store (such as vegan mayo and red onion). I made it for dinner, and it was hands down the best sandwich I’ve had in a long time.

Pros: Nice selection of vegan retail products

Delicious

We got subs/chips for lunch and were so impressed that we went back again on our way out of town.

The deli is so cool for being all plant-based, and the staff were really friendly. Check this place out if you haven't already done so. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: So many options, Cool deli space

Cons: A little pricey , No dine-in

A favorite of mine

This has been a favorite of mine since before the had a brick and mortar store. I just had their Leftovers panini and it was very good. I love their ribs, burgers, and meatloaf especially.

Cons: Wish they were open a little later than they are

Keystone of the MN vegan community

Aubry and Kale are the glue that holds the Minnesota vegan scene together. HB is a staple in so many restaurants, especially non vegan ones. It’s not cheap, but worth every penny.

Pros: Community involved, Tons of options, Delicious

Cons: Expensive

Every city needs one!

While visiting Minnetonka we stopped in to get supplies for a meal with an omnivore friend in the area. Bought some of the ribs, some cheese, pasta salad, and a sandwich. All were excellent. Even my omnivore friends enjoyed it.

Pros: Food quality

Cons: Limited hours

Lord of the Bings

@ MN State Fair — Lord of the Bings was delicious.

Crunchy Balboa was not as good because it was very messy for a state fair food and not as tasty.

Believe the hype!

Love the variety and care they put into their goods. Wish they would consider doing some sort of salad with their meats and cheeses. I love the sandwiches, but all that gluten and bread can get kind of heavy. Great selection of vegan chocolates and cookies, too!

I wish they had one of these in my city!

The take and bake lasagna was stellar. Many of the vegan restaurants in Minneapolis source their vegan meats from this place.

Yay! Deli Sandwiches!

They have a short menu of pre-made deli sandwiches and an extensive selection of vegan 'meats' for purchase in bulk like a traditional butcher shop. We tried the turkey sandwich and the Italian sandwich, both of which were excellent. I wish we lived closer so that we could try the other sandwiches and the meats!

One downside is that there's nowhere to eat inside the shop, and it's pretty far away from anywhere worth sitting and eating outside. Also challenging considering the weather can be dicey at certain times of the year!

Cons: No seating

The best

You probably already know what the Herbivorous Butcher is, and you know that it's amazing. But it's worth repeating that not only are their traditional meats and cheeses delicious, but their takeaway sandwiches and other meals are perfect.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Delicious Sandwich, great staff

Very cool experience. Famous spot so had t visit. It's been years since I had a cold cut sandwich. I grew up with Italian combo sandwiches in New England so this brought me back. This Italian was good, I grabbed it before my flight. Lots of interesting mock meats to choose from for a vegan splurge and a walk down memory lane.

Always great for lunch

Delightful little shop for grabbing a deli sandwich for lunch. I love all of the subs. Not huge on the hot dog.
