Fresh sandwiches and great grocery selection - Edit
Finally had a chance to try this place today - no regrets! The sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Also had a nice selection of vegan groceries as well as treats from Donut Flyer. Will definitely return to try more.

SD Vegan Market is the most unique vegan spot in San Diego. They offer a variety of vegan snacks, foods, groceries, and personal care items. I love coming here to try new things that I know are vegan without having to check! The selection is a bit small, but think of it as like.....a vegan 7/11, but way better quality products.

This market has a very good breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. They also have other regular lunch sandwiches and lots of goodies in the fridge. Nurse prepared macaroni and potato salad along with vegan sandwiches. #Veganuary

So glad I found this place. Was hiking out in the Gorge and wanted something quick. The deli has so many delicious sounding options. I went with the gluten-free club. Delicious. Stephanie at the front was so sweet and helpful.

Edited because the location changed. This place has grown up a lot! It is now much nicer looking but that also came with an inflated price tag. Still a good spot for obscure vegan items and the deli is reasonable and tasty.

I'm changing my review entirely and adding an extra star. This business has moved to a better location, and made improvements in every way. I can get many types of food and ingredients here, including sandwiches and even fresh hot food. I'll be coming back regularly.

Great variety of specialized vegan products not found at conventional whole foods stores. However, the sandwiches steal the show here. The clerk takes his time meticulously preparing every layer of the sandwich, some of which are cooked. The result is a flavorful and plentiful meal.

I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance a few months ago, and it's hard to find gluten free vegetarian stuff, but this place has a ton of really great options. Fancy vegan cheeses for really good prices too.

It’s an all vegan convince store. Do I need to say more? It’s simply amazing. So much vegan stuff! I have been vegan awhile and lived in different states, been to countless stores both big chain and mom and pop and never seen some of the options. My favorite was the array of vegan cheeses and they actually had the best vegan mayo (Just Mayo). There was so much more crammed into the small market. The man working was incredibly kind and welcoming to everyone in the store. Highly recommend.

This is a great little place but there’s a few problems. Sometimes there’s expired food in the fridge area. There could also be more variety because I always see the same stuff in there month to month. And sandwiches are either a hit or a miss when you order them. One time the girl slathered mine in mustard - it was inedible.

I love this shop and the owner Sonny is the nicest man ever. I travel from 20 miles away to come find my favorites, nomad cheese, cena carne asada, vegan jerky, be leaf bacon and eggs. I can go on and on. Come here to find all the goodies that the big grocery stores don’t carry.

We went there and the guy working could only make a BLT one way..., like you couldn’t even choose tempeh or setian. Waste of time coming here. One of the sandwich’s is a grilled cheese.... you can’t make a grilled cheese? We drive 20 min because we wanted a yummy deli sandwich, this place needs to get it together. Such a disappointment. Why would you have someone working alone that doesn’t know how to make anything? Such a weird experience

Small hole in the wall market in small strip mall - worth every penny - Edit
Desperate for breakfast anything while on the road (HappyCow peeps get it is hard to find breakfast) I found this on the app, vegan filter. Confused by the hours on the app, I called ahead. Got a “just egg” and fakin bacon sandwich on pretzel roll that if forced to, I could live off of for every meal. The market is stocked with creative strictly vegan , great find!
