Read moreWir dachten uns, wir gehen fein essen - so vom Instagram Autritt her wirkte es fancy - aber müssen ehrlich gestehen, bissi Alt-Wiener Wirthaus Flair mit so lala Ambiente... und für unseren Geschmack recht overpriced. Da kochen wir zu Hause selbst um einiges besser 💚 Waren leider enttäuscht und haben uns über die vielen guten Bewertungen gewundert. Konnten uns die Preise nicht ganz erklären... Vielleicht hatten wir auch nur Pech an diesem Tag und ich will es auch nicht schlecht reden aber auch nichts beschönigen nur weil es 100% vegan ist.

Delicious vegan food in Vienna - Edit
I was lucky to go with a bunch of friends so I could try most of what is on the menu right now and it was all sooooooo good. And with the friendly staff, one feels like home.

Im neuen 'Schlicht Vegan' gibt's jeden Sonntag ein komplett veganes all you can eat Brunch-Buffet. Ganz große Empfehlung!!
Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Hübsche Lokation, man hat sich viel Mühe gegeben, alles herzurichten. Sämtliche Speisen haben uns seeeehr gut geschmeckt, waren frisch und von guter Qualität. Passend zum Herbst gab es Kürbis; es ist also anzunehmen, dass sich die Speisenauswahl saisonal ändert.

Hearty tasty Austrian food - Edit
I enjoyed the food. It wasn't fine dining but it was tasty. The portions weren't big but when I said I was still hungry they were happy to give me more without charge. I had the celery schnitzel and grenadiermarsch, both were tasty, and for dessert the powidltascherl, also good but for €9 very tiny.

Dear Jules8, most of the products we use are organic. We have a own garden where we grow our fresh produce, unfortunately we can’t label it as organic, because of the legal conditions in Austria. We cannot change our prices because not only the product on the plate but also all other costs such as rent, staff, cleaning etc. must be included in the price so that we can continue to run our restaurant.

Very often when you go out for vegan food in Vienna the food is good but not exciting. This place however gives you a real taste sensation. There's thought put into every dish, the flavours are genuinely exciting and a cut above.

We had the asparagus soup, which was delightfully tart, sweet and savoury. The lentil ragout with polenta was seasoned with a touch of rosemary and very satisfying. The Grenadiermarsch was something else: a herbal explosion in a sensational pesto, great textures and that comforting taste of potatoes, dumplings and paprika.
For dessert we went for the strawberry tiramisu, made with seasonally ripe, rich strawberries and homemade marscapone, washed down with a tangy and gorgeous looking strawberry punch. We also went for the rhubarb and mint semolina tart, which was refreshing, sweet, sour and splendid. We just wish there was more of it.
Go to this place!

Cons: But pricey for the portion sizes, but it's fine.

Delicious Austrian dishes the vegan way. we had all starters (try the onion tartlett and the rösti!), the celery schnitzel, mushroom stroganoff (yum!) and the spätzle, as well as the yummy desserts. many thanks - we will come again!

Wir waren zum Abendessen da und hatten den Sellerieschnitzel und die Knödel, zur Nachspeise die Tascherl, es war alles so frisch und lecker! Und der Gruss aus der Küche sowie die Kekse zum Tee haben alles abgerundet. Das Lokal ist sehr schön und eben, schlicht dekoriert. Das Personal ist wirklich zuvorkommend. Ein Geheimtipp!

Schlicht vegan verfolgt ein tolles Konzept mit bodenständiger Küche aus regionalen, saisonalen Produkten. Kein Schnick-Schnack dafür wird viel Wert auf Geschmack gelegt. Zudem wird hier auch auf Müllvermeidung geachtet. Klare Empfehlung!

Die Wiener Küche in vegan - ohne Ersatzprodukte. Super Konzept und hat uns direkt angesprochen. Man wird freundlich begrüßt und hat einen schönen Wirtshaus-Charme. Die Karte ist kurz und an die Saison angepasst. Wir hatten die Kürbis Nockerl und Kürbisgulasch und beides war super! Einzig Portionsgröße könnte noch etwas angepasst werden. Die Nockerl etwas mehr und das Gulasch etwas weniger. Die Nachspeisen waren urgut!! Sehr zu empfehlen.
Sehr gut fanden wir auch den Gruß der Küche und dass das die Küche das Essen serviert und erklärt.
Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
PS: vielleicht könnte man die Musikauswahl überdenken 😉
