A Veg Oasis in Jinan! MUST VISIT

This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants ever! My boyfriend and I are both long-time vegetarians and we're worried about living in Jinan and eating out. Foshanyuan is a Buddhist restaurant so the whole menu is vegetarian and they have LOTS to choose from. I go there at least 2x a month and I haven't disliked any dish yet. It's all typical Northern Chinese food but vegan-ized! All dishes are served family style to share. Their fake meats are delectable and everything is super savory. I suggest getting the fried oyster mushrooms and the hot pot. The fried fruit in honey sauce is a wonderful desert. Setting is great for a large groups in dining rooms upstairs or even a date night as they have little private booths along the wall on the first floor. At the front when you go to pay your bill the service is SUPER friendly! You're told to pick a folded paper out of a bowl with a poem and a prize on it... If you're lucky you'll get loose leaf tea, a prayer bracelet, or the soundtrack CD of Buddhist songs they play in the dining room. Please visit, you'll be happy you did! I'd be willing to meet you there. :D

Pros: Very clean, English picture menu, Large portions

Cons: A little hard to find, Staff speaks little English

Best Vegetarian Food in Jinan

This place is by far the best out of the three purely vegetarian Restaurants in Jinan!
I've been going there at least twice a month in the last half year and pretty much every dish is amazing! I highly recommend the mushroom dishes and the "beef" strips.
Also the Wulong-Tea is definitely worth the 20Kuai per pot.
The interior is nice and payed much more attention by the owners than most other places. The dishes are between 20 and 40 kuai which is normal everywhere else. At the end you often even get a little present, like a buddhist wrist band or a bag of tea, etc.
Its true the place hard to find - the best way is to go to "Fo Shan Jie" by taxi and have the taxi driver call the restaurant on your phone to get directions.
Definitely worth a visit, though you might have to call ahead and book a table.

Pros: Inexpensive, Tasty, Nice interior

Cons: you might need to book a table via phone

Advisable

Clean, good food and very friendly staff. Skip the tea.
50rmb for two platefuls, one veggie sausage and tea.

It's a little bit tricky to get there, even for some taxi drivers. Try to show them this map taken from their website: http://www.wenfozhai.com/pics/map.jpg
