Very tasty home made food

Food made with love and care. Family owned restaurant and you can tell the food is home made. Plenty of vegan options, including desserts. Delicious food available in mild, medium or hot, so take your pick! Also contains a small shop with Mauritanian products (some accidentally vegan snacks!)

Pros: Plenty of vegan options for each course, Full flavours, Uncommon cuisine

Cons: Pricey, Small portions although filling

Surprise find, but good!

I stumbled upon Flavour of Mauritius whilst out with a colleague. It’s very colourful from the outside and my colleague spotted the ‘vegan options’ sign before I did. Never had Mauritian food so we headed in. Great decision.

Pleasant surprise that maybe a third of the menu is vegan. Staff know their stuff - gave me lots of confidence when ordering but the menu is very clear.

Quality of food was great. I had the rougaille, I’m not entirely certain what the balls were in it (I think chickpea) but they were delicious, as was the tomato based sauce. Mopped up with a trio of mixed flavour roti. Great find in Reading I strongly recommend you try if you’ve never been to before.
