Cute Little Spot! - Edit
I was walking to the office and just happened to stumble on this spot by chance when I saw the plant-based sign on the front. So happy I did!
Read moreStaff was friendly, food was good, drink was excellent. Really cute spot.
I’m going to sound like the biggest complainer, but just a couple nitpicks:
- it felt crammed
- I’m one of ‘those people’ who prefers eating most of my food with a fork/knife. You’ll see in my photos how the plates they use are pretty incompatible with this workflow. So I was spilling food everywhere trying to eat it and eventually gave up and ate with my hands. I know this isn’t a problem for most people, but it was a bit frustrating on my end because I didn’t want to make a mess.
I don’t want to let the minor nitpicks distract from the positives:
- good food
- amazing pastries
- excellent drinks
(And yes, that’s the order of what I think is good to best) I still think about the tea I had there.

Good coffee and specialty drinks - Edit
I got my usual Americano here and it was good but pretty light. I would recommend an 8oz for Americanos here for a good espresso-water ratio. My partner got a “Carmel popcorn” iced latte and said it reminded him of a salt Carmel latte. We’ll probably visit again the next time we’re in Portland.

Unique and fun - Edit
Maryberry Espresso Tonic had a lot going on, but surprisingly delightful with a beautiful presentation. The caramel corn latte was yummy, though sweet. Pastries from local bakeries are delicious.

Great spot! - Edit
This is a super cool spot inside the shaft of an old freight elevator. It feels like a slice of old Portland. The staff is very kind and all of the food is vegan. For pastries they have a mix of Shoofly and another bakery. One of the best Americanos I’ve had in a long time.

Exquisite drinks - Edit
The espress-orange tonic is the most interesting and delicious coffee drink I’ve had in a long time. Super fresh scones and quick breads from Shoofly sealed the deal. I’m still sitting here and already excited to come back.

I ordered a chai tea and a cinnamon sugar Delicious Donut. I love pastries, but I wish they offered more food options.

Thank you so much for visiting!
Read moreWe are still in start-up/soft opening mode, only being open for a few weeks, so a lot of learning and experimenting with what’s possible in our small space… we do have more food options on the way though (stay tuned for a fun take on a breakfast sandwich), so we hope to see you again soon!
