Great Food - Edit
This place was so cute!! Featuring an all vegan menu, my friends and I had the Caesar salad, flautas, and French fries. All of our food was excellent and the outdoor seating was so relaxing. Highly recommend this treasure

All vegan Tex Mex in Phoenix - Edit
I recently went to The Coronado PHX. It was a close walk from where I was staying. Phoenix is very spread out and a car here is necessary. Being a car-free urban San Franciscan meant that I opted to use Lyft nearly daily in Phoenix yet appreciated being able to walk to The Coronado PHX.
Read moreThe Coronado PHX is 100 percent vegan. I loved seeing a full restaurant with so many folks eating vegan food. This made me very happy and like supporting vegan restaurants for that reason.
I decided to go with the Vegan Chimichanga because I was in Arizona and the Chimichanga was apparently created in nearby Tucson so paying homage to Chimichanga is a good thing when in Arizona for when in Roman do as the Romans do is how the saying goes.
The Chimichanga was quite alright and made with in house Quinoa Chorizo. I enjoyed it. Friendly service was here. The only thing that could have been better was the ambiance for didn't like the music that was playing.
Not much to do about that yet all in all pretty solid and recommended if in Phoenix!
Pros: all vegan, friendly service
Cons: didn't like the music

Excellent fully vegan Mexican fusion food. They were out of fried guacamole when we went, but their salsa is excellent. Great atmosphere and great food.

Vegan Mexican? Yes please! - Edit
Great food and great environment. Not giving the final star due to all the fried food.
Read moreThe fried guacamole is a must. Over two different visits, we tried the Flautas (superb), the Cauliflower tacos (fantastic), the Coronado Burrito (Tasty AF) and the Chimichanga (top notch)

Great Dinner Spot in PHX - Edit
Wonderful vegan restaurant in the PHX area tucked away in the neighborhoods and offers delicious plant-based Mexican goodness. I came here to celebrate my sister's commencement from ASU and they were a highlight of the week.
Read moreOur table started with their Fried Guacamole and their Cauliflower Bites. The guac was my Mom's favorite dish which speaks volumes since she rarely eats much outside of East Asian cooking. The bites were fine but a bit too salty for my liking.
For our mains, we tried their Potato Tacos, Mushroom Tacos, Jackfruit Flautas, their California Burrito with cremini asada, and a Caesar Salad. Their potato and mushroom tacos were superb with the former really reminding me of Taco Bell but in the best way. The flautas were topped with a pickled slaw and the seasoned jackfruit really made the dish stand out. My parents enjoyed their burrito and salad as well, and didn't realize until the end of the meal that everything we had was plant based.
The vibe inside was fantastic too. Nice mood lighting for a good atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend Coronado for anyone wanting a fantastic meal whether they eat plant-based or not. Everything was just delicious.

decent food, nicer vibe - Edit
i heard a lot of hype about this place. and the pancakes specifically. they were pretty good. however i’ve definitely had better vegan pancakes before, i thought it was peculiar they had no fruit available as a side for the pancakes? the vibe is neat and our server was nice.

Amazing Pancakes - Edit
Had Brunch here. Good Chilaquiles, bloody Maria. Biscuits snd Gravy were ok.....biscuits a bit dense. The pancakes were amazing. Super fluffy. Don't bother ordering coffee here. They only get 1 pot alloyed to them a day apparently? This is what the waitress said. So continued to inform us that the coffee shop next door was owned by the same owner......hmmmm very strange. So food is good just bring in your own coffee from next door.

Great menu options - Edit
Coming from a state with limited vegan options, it’s nice to go to a restaurant and just place an order. We had the Coronado burrito, fried avocado and biscuits and gravy with tofu egg added. They even had a apple pie chimichanga for dessert. We sat outside and every time we travel we try to swing through. I can see it could get very busy at times with long waits but we never had an issue.

This is the top rated restaurant in PHX and RIGHTFULLY SO!! The rating is 5
Read moreWe started with the Cauliflower Bites. We got the buffalo and ranch sauce. All of it was amazing.
Then we got the beet burger and the Coronado Burrito. We loved the sauce that the burrito came with!! It was a lot of food for two people so we had a carryout box.
Great experience and highly recommended for a #Veganuary experience. #Veganuary
Pros: Sustainable carryout box, Very LGBTQ friendly

Phenomenal food - Edit
This place was amazing! I was in town visiting Phoenix for a few days and this was my favorite meal by far. It was such a cute vibe inside, nice staff, and the food was spectacular! One of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve ever had — the chorizo tacos were so well flavored and seasoned with a great spice that it didn’t need any Cholula or hot sauce or anything. There’s also a coffee shop attached to it where you can walk in and grab your coffee of choice and bring it back to have with your meal! So worth the stop if you’re ever in Phoenix!!

I don't get the hype - Edit
I've been here two or three times and each time was a long wait for just ok food. If someone was coming into town to visit, and I wanted to show them good vegan food, this place wouldn't even be on the list of options. And yet it seems to be the most popular place in town. Maybe it's just because the location and food is super instagrammable?

Terrible service every time - Edit
The food is delicious. Our favorite is the Coronado burrito but the service is always unprofessional. They are not willing to go out of their way to make a customer happy. Patio seating is the only option if you don’t have a reservation even though inside is close to empty EVERY TIME. In a 102° weather they can’t provide an umbrella and every time they tell us it’s an hour wait and we never wait more than 15mins it’s like it’s their purpose to turn people down. They have a side patio that’s in the complete shade and they can fit most tables on it but they only have 1 table on that side. I wish there was better management

I wanted to love this place but everything was just kind of bland, we wanted more seasonings and flavor. We were the only ones in there and the service was really slow. Also the music was way too loud. But it’s a cute place with a good amount of fully plant based meals but we just wanted more flavor and a little better service.

Delicious! - Edit
On a business trip and my companions agreed to try a vegan restaurant with me. So no pressure ha. The Coronado did not disappoint. We ordered the fried guacamole as a starter - we devoured it in minutes. I ordered the cauliflower tacos - they were huge and so good - I was sad I couldn't finish them all. My companions both ordered the Jackfruit Flautas and said it was the best meal they had the whole trip. Totally success! I also ordered the side of red potatoes which were very good but I was so full from the tacos I could only eat part of it. Overall highly recommend!

I tried the Coronado burrito and the red potatoes were only halved or quartered, big chunks, which made it very hard to eat and dip into the sauce

Just finished an amazing meal of jackfruit flautas while my partner devoured the stuffed French toast (a weekend special). The hot coffee was not great though so we lost a star there but if your not a coffee drinker, consider this a 5 star review.

We put our name in for a table and walked around the building to Dark Hall to get a coffee and pre-meal snack. I thought it was cool that the host offered to walk over to get you if your name comes up while waiting for coffee. Everything we ordered was delicious 💚
