Not vegan anymore

The food is really tasty, but kind of small portions and quite expensive.

However, this place is no longer vegan but always have several vegan dishes, both mains and desserts. They now serve both fish and dairy.

Delicious, but expensive, food

The food at this place was incredible; a smaller vegan tasting menu consisting of three small dishes made out of a plant or vegetable in focus. Although, the price is quite expensive - even for a vegan tasting menu, and the dishes are not too filling.

Great concept but needs improvement!

Great food but not worth the price

The food is amazing, but the prices are massive while the portions are sometimes laughably small (we actually did laugh when our friends dish came in)

If you're a fine diner with a lot of cash to spend, they do have incredible food. But it's not a place you would go to on any occation

Pros: Incredible food

Cons: Tiny potions, Very expensive

Amazing food and staff

The carrots were awesome! So was the atmosphere and the staff. We got our food a little bit late (the place was quite full) and we got really well compensated. Would absolutely recommend!

Pros: all vegan menu, superfriendly staff, cozy

Cons: no hot sauce

Good food

Good food, I tried the carrot dish and was really nice, and the dessert of rhubarb. The price is a little more than average but it was worth it, I paid 300sek for both dishes and a sparkling water. The staff were friendly too, although it’s a slower pace.

Meh, it was alright...

The restaurant decor and service was good and it seemed nice enough, however the food tastes below average and is definitely not worth the amounts charged. It looks well presented but myself and a friend who was with me both left a significant amount on the plate. I had the yellow plate (risotto) which was overly flavoured with bitter saffron and some tangy vinegary substance. Did not enjoy at all. The beer made up for it though.

Excellent Vegan Fine Dining

As vegetarians we have become fans of Swedish restaurants that offer innovative locally sourced tasting menus which we can eat! Syster Marmalad has joined our list of ‘must visit when we’re in town’. Firstly it is totally plant based, which we now know is vegan without the meat substitutes. It was not just the innovative use of vegetables but the attention to detail that impressed. We had the five dish menu accompanied by a wine package which was well matched and an excellent complement to the food. The warmth and enthusiasm of the host added to the quality of the experience. Although it is not in the centre of Gothenburg, it is very easy to get to on the 3 or 11 tram.

Pros: Excellent food, Plant based, Friendly staff

Ambitious. And pricey

There is no getting around the fact that Syster Marmelad has set a high bar: everything about the restaurant practically screams "Fine Dining!" And it's good. Pricey but good. Still I've left wanting. It lacks something and the over all feeling is a bit... flat.

Pros: Good food, Beautiful interiors

Cons: Pricey

Fantastic clean food

I had no expectations before steping into the restaurant and was directly overwhelmed by the nice atmosphere!!! We did not book a table but we got four seats at the bar towards the Window. Food was amazing and whole food! For example one dish with paranip, includibg three varieties of parsnip, puré, chip and baked with great flavours! Also a plus to the inventive gin and tonic menu. Highly recomended for vegans! We got bread, peaspread and good service!

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Gin and tonic

Cons: No water

bad service

Second time there, still dissapointed. Didn't get any bread, water or service. Although it tasted good, the food felt pretentious. Will not return.
