VERY LIMITED OPTIONS

Basically only have the same two standard options that you can find at any restaurant in Thailand: fried rice and fried noodles. Except for being right on the beach and having a nice vibe, nothing special about the menu for vegans.

Pros: On the beach, Vibes

Cons: Limited vegan options

Great location, limited options

The location on the beach was good and there was nice music, but the veg options were limited and it was a challenge to communicate what I didn’t want on the food. They got the order right but the portions were very small for the price. Food tasted good.

Pros: Atmosphere , Nice staff

Cons: Small portions , Limited options

Why is this place on HappyCow?

It would probably be better if this wasn't on Happy Cow: The ónly seemingly vegan option on the menu was a Pad Thai Tofu, which we had to send back twice because first it came with chicken and then with egg! The staff was friendly but didn't speak english very well, and did not seem very familiar with vegans, haha. Cocktails were good, but that's beside the point of HappyCow! ;)

Pros: good cocktails, friendly staff, Ocean view, on the beach

Cons: Not vegan at all, Staff doesn't speak english very well, Music too loud

Cons: No real exciting vegan options., Two vegan items on the menu., :(

no ideal for vegetarian or vegan

They don't have any specific vegetarian options. I asked for yellow curry with no meat or eggs came with eggs. Not worth of even trying for vegetarian food.

amazing Thai food

We ate vegan pad Thai, and vegan Thai coconut soup with vegan spring rolls . Both where outstanding! To get vegan pad Thai is a gem and the soup was so flavoursome it rivals anything I have had before! Amazing, and prices are good at 150baht, highly recommend

Pros: vegetarian menu

Not bad at all

This place is quite a good option if you are in Phuket and need to find veggie food in the evening in a nice setting. It's right on the beach and it has a good atmosphere. The service is not the most efficient but the food is good.
They have a fair amount of vegetarian dishes many of which can be made vegan and they seem to understand this. You also get to dine on the beach. The restaurant is easy to find, at the start of the beach (in the direction of Kamala.)

Ordered without egg but got egg anyway

There are about 10 vegetarian items in the back of the menu (half Thai, half international). The Pad Sieew was listed as having no animal ingredients, but asked for "no egg, no fish sauce" just to be sure, and the waiter acknowledged... but then my dish was served with lots of egg.

So, those who don't eat eggs may want to avoid this place.

That said, the setting was pleasant and the vegetable spring rolls were good.

Cons: undependable for special orders

Pretty good, it is on the beach...

We had a little trouble finding the place... Eventually asked someone where Loma food centre was while standing right across from it!
You don't see any signs for SoleMio until you look from the beach side. From the north side you can see Loma written on a white stairwell on the outside of the building when looking across an area without buildings (not many areas without buildings on the beach so maybe this is easier to find)
Sitting on the beach is nice... But really the view is pretty crowded.
The two "pages" of vege menu turns out to be about ten dishes.
We tried two of the Thai style noodle options... Which were good, but not amazing. And also got a "morning-glory"(kangkung) made without oyster sauce. They also have a nice range of mock tails.
It's good for one or maybe two visits...and the staff do speak English. But it's not really up to the yumminess standard I've come to expect in Thailand.

Pros: Cheap, Beach, Easy to order veggie dishes

Cons: Average flavours for Thailand

Beachfront dining

If you're looking for a decent restaurant on the beach to have lunch or dinner you should consider Sole Mio. Their prices are a bit more than what you would find at a local food stand but not outrageous. And you get to dine on the beach. They have sheltered areas too. There's an entrance from alley and one from beach. If you enter from alley you might think it's a small place. Ask to sit on the beach. I had pad Thai with tofu which was excellent.

Pros: beachfront, goo food, vegetarian menu
