Good real food but not all great

Cute space with some great stuff but a little hot or miss. Had vermicelli today that was very bland but pumpkin pancakes and sweet vegan buns are to be recommended!

Dinner at Real Food

Not much crowd. Quiet ambience.
Aglio Olio tasted decent.

great ambiance

Though still subpar to the drop down windows at its Orchard central counterpart, it is undeniable that this place offers a great environment for chilling and small group meetings. There are bookshelves lined with books of all types for browsing while we dine, including novels. The food is pretty good too, with their dumplings being the most famous. The fillings are on the chunkier side (compared to being compact and firm). Also offers ice cream, which I tried to purchase but when I do, I am for some unknown reason always ignored by the waiters.

Pros: ambiance, books, healthy

Cons: ignored by workers , pricey

Let's do lunch @ Real Food

Real Food at Novena has a minimalistic interior and long wooden tables, which gives a relaxing spacious feel. Perfect for communal dining and to linger on sipping coffee after a meal.

This place serves All Day Breakfast, Rice & Noodle, Pasta, Pizza, Burgers, salads and more. Wow … extensive menu. I choose Mushroom Noodles Dry @ $8.5 for my lunch, flavourful and healthy. Love the organic food and ambience here.

Definitely NOT Gluten-Free!

I was just there with my celiac sister. She wanted to order the Gluten-Free soup, but was shocked that the bread that comes with it was made of WHEAT flour! I told them that when one orders GF soup, one expects the bread to be GF too. Do you know what their answer to that was? "It is on the side, you don't have to eat it." Incredible! Can you even believe that?!

It is obvious that these people are merely jumping onto the GF bandwagon for profits - there is no COMMITMENT to the GF principle at all. As a celiac, would you trust that you are truly getting GF food? In fact, can you trust that you are even getting organic stuff, when they are so lacking in commitment?

Cons: Serves WHEAT bread with GF soup!, "It's on the side, you don't have to eat

one of my most regular hangout

vegetarian and mostly organic.. and relatively inexpensive. one of my favourite hangouts of all time.

One reason why I support Real Food is because they support ethical farming and ethical food preparation which really stands out in the food industry. Real Food sources mainly from organic farmers and even if the farmers do not have enough scale to pay for organic certification, the partners personally visit the farms to ensure the food is REALly (pun intended :P) free from pesticides and toxic farming ingredients. They also take pains to ensure their food is as healthy as possible – the oils they use to cook their food is of such great quality, it costs 10x market rate of regular cooking oil – all this to ensure that their food is as healthy as possible. they also believe in good intentions, so he tries to keep his cooks in good spirits so they put positive energy into the food they prepare.
