Amazing!!!

What a great restaurant nestled a bit hidden at the feet of the Batu cave temple!
The Café right in front the stairs was packed and looked like a tourist trap, so I was very happy to find Rani only half full of people.
I mean drinking out of a fresh coconut 🥥 is just so awesome! The waiter actually goes out to the coconut 🌴 booth at the entrance where a vendor is opening them fresh.
You can choose if you want it cold or not.
It’s not as sweet but a bit tart and it’s a lot of coconut water 💦
The waiter was very friendly and instantly cleaned the table and brought the menu.
The food was incredible! It was served with 3 sauces and the yellow one with potatoes and squash was my favorite.
You can look into the cave while eating authentic Indian food 🥘 from a banana leaf 🍃- I was in awe!
It wasn’t spicy to my surprise. The price was very affordable from a European perspective, given the amazing location and I would come back and try more.
The coconut was about 1€ and the food around 2,5€

Bathrooms: There is only one bathroom at the feet of the stairs and you need 0,5 RM in cash - better bring 1 RM or more - there might be someone in need who doesn’t carry cash 😉

Dress code: For the temple women need to cover their shoulders and knees. You can rent covers for 15 RM if you need to. Men can wear shorts and shirts.

Cheap and sooo tasty

I don't like Indian food at all, but even for me, Roti Paratha was really tasty! Also it is a clean place with nice staff and a fair price.

Good vegan choices

If you are in the area or visiting the nearby temples go to this place for lunch. The staff is friendly and willing to tell you which dishes are vegan. The dishes we chose were tasty.

Pros: Good value, Friendly staff

My Vege Lunch

Nice place to have your simple and light vegetarian meal. I order Masala Thosa & Capati. The dhall are variety and tasty. Most important, it has air con room. Highly recommended if you are nearby.

no big expectations

for a tourist area this place had ok price, but we payed 10 ringgit for a mango lassi (not fresh one) and 15 for a plate of food. The palte was pretty big, but way too spice, eventhough we have asked for really NOT spicy food.
I would recommend to go for good indian food to Brieckfield.

Pros: lcoation

Cons: price, too spicy, not very friendly

Excellent authentic Southern Indian

Great Southern Indian food with unlimited coconut chutney and sambar to accompany our uttapam and vaddai. Would definitely recommend, helpful staff, understood no dairy for vegan. Delicious, best thing about our visit to the Batu Caves. Air con restaurant inside or other seating outside.

Pros: authentic southern Indian , understood vegan
