Lovely atmosphere

The owner was very friendly! We sat outside out on the terrace and it was perfect. For vegans we had: hummus, eggplants with tomatoes, falafel, and dolmas! Some things came with yogurt sauce on the side and we just told him we're vegan and he left them out. The portions weren't very big so order extra.

Deception

I had read many positive opinions about the place, so my expectations weren't low. However, my visit to this restaurant was quite deceptioning.

Besides of the low quality of food, almost nothing in vegetarian menu is vegan. I advised the waiter about my veganism, however I was served falafel with dairy youghurt... The service was quite slow and messy.

I don't know, maybe they weren't at their best on this day, but my impression was not excesively good.

"Un lugar atemporal"

Tuve la oportunidad de visitar este sitio a raíz de esta página y la verdad es que tanto a mí como a mi acompañante nos sorprendió lo mágico que llegaba a ser el lugar. Algunos otros clientes lo habían descrito como un lugar atemporal, tal y como nos contó durante la velada el encargado del restaurante, una persona increíblemente agradable que en todo momento se preocupó de hacernos sentir bien atendidos y a gusto.
Fue todo un lujo poder disfrutar de semejante ambiente, en un sitio cuyas paredes están pegadas a la misma muralla, con música de fondo y sin el ajetreo de otros lugares de Toledo.
La comida estaba muy rica y el precio era razonable. Volveremos, sin duda, ya que no abundan los sitios con opciones veganas en esta ciudad, y menos sitios con tanto encanto como este.

Great Food's The Truth - Here at La Luz

Really atmospheric both inside the restaurant and on the lovely patio area under the old city wall. Food was fresh and tasty with good sized portions and great value. Service was friendly and efficient. We liked it so much here we went back 2 nights later during our short stay in Toledo. Highly recommended.

great food & great atmosphere, every time.

I have lived in the city of Toledo for just over 4 months now, and this delightful restaurant has become a favorite of mine that I frequently visit. It started as a place that I could obtain really good hummus (there are 2 or 3 places where hummus is available in Toledo including grocery stores) and it has ended up being the first meal I need to have upon returning to Toledo from my travels. I begin to crave the falafel when I haven't eaten it in a week or so, the eggplant and tomato dish is simply decadent, and the hummus is out of this world.

The owner is very cool and has become a friend of mine here in the city. This restaurant is amazing and I am excited for it's popularity to grow, more people will fall in love with the atmosphere and food upon their first visit to this lovely place.

Pros: Hummus, Beautiful Outdoor Terrace, Fresh food, friendly staff
