For old times' sake - Edit
Located inside Pasar Atom, which Google describes as a “long-running mall”. One look at the place and it's clear that's a euphemism meaning “tired”. Truly old-school, best viewed with a nostalgic granny in tow.
Read moreAs Pagoda is highly rated by locals as being "authentic", I hunted for it in the mall's labyrinth a year ago - with no success. This time I lucked up and found an information counter, and the staff led me there. Otherwise, I certainly would have failed again. When I requested no egg, the staff stressed that all dishes are vegan (Lovely staff - we shared a good laugh at my feeble attempts to speak Bahasa). As the image of Nasi Campur Rendang shows, my dish was a low-key affair - not a stunning beauty. And the taste matched the looks: okay, but not worth a trip to this rather dismal part of town.
Three stars for the food, an extra star for being all vegan and economical - and for the cheerful service.

Delicious food and lovely customer service - Edit
Stopped there for lunch and the place was relatively busy. I ordered a kind of noodle soup and my boyfriend got a jackfruit curry with rice. The food was well seasoned and came out quickly. This is just a personal preference, but some of the soya protein was rather similar to meat which freaked me out slightly. Overall, the food was delicious though.
