Small space with great choices - Edit
Right off the Takoma Park Metro, you can drop by this small eatery for a quick meal at a moderate price. Given the location, it is not super cheap, but it definitely hits the spot.
Read moreWhen you walk into the Bistro, you see a few tables in a laid back atmosphere strewn throughout the space. Above the counter, there are boards with all the menu items. There is one specifically just for vegan items!!! It's so comforting to not worry about asking if it's vegan and just knowing it is!
They have a couple salads, some classic sides (fries and side salad) and sandwiches (chicken alternative and veggie choices). Because it's Peruvian, there's also some yuca, tamales, beans and rice. For dessert, vegan cake!! They have nondairy vegan milk for coffee and nondairy vegan cream cheese for the morning bagel.
The food is fresh, the service fast and the portions just right to satisfy your hunger. I enjoyed going here and can't wait to go back. The tamales and yuca are tasty exciting alternative sides, and the chicken sandwiches are so good (pesto, vegan cheese, avocados, ciabatta bread, etc) because they are not too greasy. I will go back when nearby and in need of tamales and a sandwich, along with dessert!
Pros: Vegan menu, Vegan tamales and dessert, Vegan chicken sandwiches
Cons: Slightly pricey, No whole wheat vegan bread
