Love Mellow! - Edit

The crust is vegan and the most amazing crust ever! Even if you're gluten-free, their GF crust is delicious! many of the pizzas can be made vegan. Just be sure to let your wait staff know you're vegan.

Great options, but inspect your food closely - Edit

Mellow mushroom used to be such a great place for vegan options. The past two times I ordered a vegan pizza it came with vegan cheese and REAL CHICKEN on it. Both times, the server removed it from the bill, blamed it on the kitchen, and shrugged his shoulders.
ON two other occasions, my dining companion (also vegan) was served a vegan sandwich with real cheese as opposed to the Daiya she ordered. The staff need to be better trained to understand vegan diners, and that it is really upsetting to have a bite of chicken, or cheese, if you are a vegan.
On the positive side, the pizzas and hoagies are really good when they get them right, but there are so many other great options for vegan food, I don't make a point to give this place yet another shot.

Love the vegan pizza and beer selection - Edit

Mellow has a vegan pizza option, and its delicious. You pick the toppings, and they use vegan Daiya cheese and leave the butter and Parmesan off the crust. Extra fee for vegan cheese. Great premium toppings like shiitake mushrooms, artichoke, kalamata olives, tempeh, and tofu. They can also veganize a few other menu options. Beer menu is awesome! Wish they had a vegan lunch special but not yet....

Atmosphere is nice outside on the patio where they frequently have live music.

Pros: Vegan cheese, Great beer selection, Good toppings

Cons: Vegan pizza gets expensive
