Best sushi I've ever had

I went to La Camelia while in Bilbao for a conference, joined by a non-vegetarian colleague. We were both impressed with the quality and variety of the sushi we were presented with.

We both had the menu, which consisted of a miso soup (which was not bad, but a little bland), a seaweed salad (which was very nice) and six maki rolls. The rolls had six different fillings, and the menu listed around fifteen different ones in total. All were extremely tasty and original.

The speed with which we were served was also commendable, as was the price (11 euros per person).

Pros: original and tasty sushi, fast service

Amazing vegan oasis!

Found this place while away on a work trip.
This was a great find, and saved me having to worry about ingredients in a city which is not too good for vegetarians.
The owner was very friendly and we muddled through as his English was ok but not great and my Spanish very poor.
Lovely food, I even had extra!

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly, Affordable

I loved it!

The only 100% vegan place to eat in Bilbao. All kinds of Makis they had (9 in that moment) were delicious. We also tasted gyozas & wakame salad: very good. The place is really small but the very kind owners and of course the food deserve to go there.

Pros: delicious variety of vegan japanese food, kind owners

Cons: small

Brilliant Place in Bilbao

This place is perfectly situated in the bustling Old Town of Bilbao. The food was lovely, based around a selection of Vegan sushi with a salad and a drink. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavour. The place was clean and looked nice from the outside.

The owners were great people, very friendly and very patient with my rather poor Spanish!. They gave me lots of advice on how to eat as a Vegan in Spain. I would recommend this place to Vegans and non-vegans alike.

Pros: Great Staff, Excellent Food, Great Location

Nice sushi place!

Have been to La Camelia twice now. It´s a lovely, small, cool sushi place with nice people running it. I guess mostly it works like a take away restaurant. There´s not much space inside, but enough to fit a couple of people by a small table, having an informal meal. If good weather you can sit outside on a bench. The hajiki salad is great. So is the sushi. There are also a lot of interesting drinks and, not to forget, vegan cakes.

Pros: Nice food, Friendly staff, Cool, relaxing interior design

Cons: Small

Lovely people

They always smile when welcoming you in.
And are available to all kind of explanations on their wonderful vegetarians sushi creations. They use sun dryed tomatoes and mozzarella, cous cous and so many other genial combinations of veggies to make into REAL GOOD sushi. You won't miss the fish. Promise. (i am on my way there to buy products for home making veggie sushi!). Last thing: They use BIO ingredients !

Delicious vegan sushi!

A wide range of vegan maki sushi: rose jam with arugula, quinoa with vegetables, hummus with roasted pepper, olive spread with red pepper... and many more. And you can also eat a wonderful vegan cake. A good choice to eat vegan in Bilbao, I totally recommend it.
