Limited options, but good ones!

I do wish they had more options (one vegan ramen, one yakisoba, a few sides), but their vegan ramen is incredible. They also have a full bar with Sapporo on tap, reasonable prices, and fast, friendly service

Pros: Serves beer, Nice staff

Cons: Only one main dish vegan on the menu.

OK vegan option

The vegan miso ramen was OK. I wouldn't recommend this place to vegans visiting Detroit, but my husband wanted to go, and the ramen isn't bad enough that I'd veto it. But I did have to add some soy sauce to the broth.

We went around 7:30pm on a Thursday and had a bit of a wait. The space is small so there's not much room to wait, and it was too cold to wait outside, so that was a little awkward.

Vegetarian food is good, vegan less so

I agree with the previous reviewer who said that JNK's vegan offerings seem like afterthoughts.

Their vegan miso ramen is incredibly bland, and maybe some of the worst I've ever had at that price point.

Their ovo-lacto options are better, though they still don't offer a lot. The standout thing I've had there is their inari buns, which are so good; they are easily one of my favorite things I've ever eaten in Detroit. The smoky butter noodles are good too, though certainly not something I'd want to eat often.

If you're going out to dinner with omnivores--or if you're looking for happy hour sake and snacks--this place is a fine option, but if veg folks just want a good bowl of noodles, you're better off going to ima instead.

Pros: Inari Buns are AMAZING (though not vegan), Happy hour drink specials are good

Cons: Small/ generally crowded, Bland Vegan offerings

vegan is an afterthought

Although there are usually one or two vegan options on the menu, I have found the flavors really boring. I have heard from my meat-eating friends they enjoy the food, so I am guessing the chef just doesn't know how to make a good vegan dish. I wouldn't purposefully go here again, although it is good to know if I end up here in a group, I won't go hungry.

SWEET COCONUT!

The sweet coconut ramen is vegan and literally my favorite thing in the whole world! They also have another vegan option as the veggie miso which I haven't tried cuz I'm too obsessed with the sweet coconut!

Pros: Super cute atmosphere , Best happy hour ever

Cons: None

Veggie Miso Broth was Eh

The only vegan option I could find was the veggie miso soup (I added onions in) and the noodles ans veggies were good but I didn't like the taste of the actual broth and was disappointed :( Long wait on the weekend, maybe like 40 minutes! My non-vegan famiky members enjoyed it, but it wasn't so much worth it for me
