Good food!

First foray into Ethiopian food. Tried once while visiting D.C. and really enjoyed the 8 vegetarian meal and loved each one of the foods.

Pros: Friendly people and atmosphere , Decent price. One meal enough to feed 2

Cons: 2 vegan/vegetarian meal choices

Vegan dishes

The food here is what you expect: tasty Ethiopian wats with injera. They have regular and gluten-free injera. The veg sampler platters are either 5 items or 8 items. Given the location on Georgia Ave., it is quite small, and, it may be why the prices are quite low. I enjoyed the food.

It was quite fresh and tasty, generous in portions and not too greasy. Expect traditional items like a chickpea shiro wat, some greens/ collards, some cabbage with potatoes and carrots, some yellow split peas and some spicy lentils. It's good eating, and it won't break the bank. Call ahead and pick up your food to go.

Pros: Price, Portions, Vegan options

Cons: Location

Secretly the best Ethiopian in DC

This spot has someone’s grandma cooking in the kitchen. Everything is to die for and it’s an ideal spot that will satisfy vegan and non-vegans alike.
I’ve tried all of their vegan dishes - everything is amazing. I especially love the shero and the 7veggie dish.
They are also on Ubereats.
