I piatti sono miseri e cari e non cucinati neanche egregiamente. Un antipasto con 4 verdurine fritte (troppo fritte) con salsa ''stonnata'' che sapeva solo di senape. Per secondo un filetto di simil-merluzzo (quelli della findus hanno più sapore) con 4 (e dico 4!) pezzetti di platano fritto e un po' di riso in bianco...

This place is so good for vegan. You can eat there during the week but on sunday you can only have cakes and drink. They offers patisseries, ice cream, sandwiches and drinks. They had a very delicious cake with whipped cream, croissant, cinnamon rolls etc.

Dire cosa ci è piaciuto è riduttivo, ci è piaciuto tutto e dico tutto davvero. Locale bellissimo, gentilezza e simpatia di tutto il personale, i piatti uno più buono dell’altro. I dolci poi sono meravigliosi. Consigliatissimo, anzi obbligatorio andarci se si è in zona!

Read moreLunch: zucchini flan and tortelli with ragu sauce were good, really liked their arancione with ragu sauce and their gnocchi alla norma. On the sweet side, I liked their daily tart (pan di spagna, crema and monella) and their tiramisu was good.
Ice-cream: I recommend the hazelnut and the “monella” flavours!

I am not really sure where to start with Essenza, because this place has got it all!
Read moreWhen it comes to food, Essenza offers everything: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, ice cream, coffees and a big selection of packaged goods (cheeses, meats, pestos, sauces, etc.).
Their selection of sweet treats is unmatched in the region. We especially recommend their croissants that can be customized with the filling of your choice (pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate, cream, Monella - their own “Nutella”, etc.), as well as their delicious apricot or berries tarts and their various cakes.
With regard to their savory dishes, we particularly enjoyed their “AranciOne allo zafferano con ragù vegetale”, the “Tortelli maremmani al ragù vegetale” and the “Gnocchi alla "norma"”.
Last but not least: the ice cream! Finally a place where you can get quality vegan ice-cream and not just the usual sorbets and dark chocolate. They currently have six flavors (Fiordilatte, Nocciola, Pistacchio, Ciocolato e Cannela, Torta al Limone, Monella). We tasted the Nocciola and the Pistacchio, which were both amazing, but the one that stole the show was clearly the Monella ice cream! It’s incredibly rich and tastes just so so good, especially with their ice cream cone.
This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the location and the friendly staff. The interior is very big and nicely decorated. It’s very calm and a small oasis of peacefulness in the middle of quite busy surroundings. They also have an outside terrace with a few tables. The service is very courteous and accommodating.

Essenza è un locale molto bello, accogliente e ben studiato, 100% vegan. Ha una pasticceria artigianale d'eccellenza con molteplici e sfiziose ricette, con la rara possibilità di scegliere più soluzioni di caffetteria biologica. Ha un ristorante con cibo ottimo, studiato con passione dall'origine dei prodotti fino agli accostamenti in piatto. Ha una bellissima carta dei vini, con cantine e bottiglie attentamente ricercate e servite al meglio in tavola. Essenza è effetto della passione e dei cuori dei suoi due splendidi proprietari, Roberto e Valentina. Eccellente!

Prima volta da Essenza ed è stata una bella sorpresa. Intanto complimenti per il personale e la cortesia ricevuta, spesso si pensa solo ai piatti, ma la riuscita di un ristorante dipende anche dalle persone che lo compongono, quindi bravi tutti.
Read moreAbbiamo fatto sia colazione che pranzo e tutto era veramente gustoso. Molto bella la scelta tra le molteplici proposte di pasticceria anche gluten free. Un solo consiglio che posso dare, anche se non mi riguarda direttamente, è provare a tenere in carta un piatto gluten free per ogni portata. Nel mio passaggio al ristorante nei primi era assente.
Ancora complimenti per tutto quello che fate in questo settore.

Sono stata qui per una merenda, e ho potuto assaggiare la torta del nonno e i cantucci. Entrambi squisiti: i cantucci sono perfetti, croccanti e aromatici, la crema della torta aveva la giusta consistenza vellutata e non troppo dolce,cosi come la frolla, friabile e "burrosa"

Went there for aperitivo! They also have an impressive selection of little desserts and ice cream. Will def go back to try their dinner menu! I especially loved their carrot ketchup which they served with fried courgette flowers.

We were happy to find a vegan restaurant in the area. Friendly staff, good food & a wide choice of desserts & ice cream. They also sell vegan cheese, milk, rice, olive oil and so much more. The restaurant is in an industrial style building but the atmosphere is cosy . It is near the entrance of the old town centre. Plenty of parking space in front. Worth a visit.

Read moreMains were wonderful. Try the pastas, they’re the best. We had the cappellacci and the tortellini and both were so good. My bf had the seitan steak too and really rated it.
The desserts are wonderful and they do tiny little ones so you can try tons. Absolute dream.
The owner also gave us some free croissants to take home for the morning which was super sweet.
This place is way way ahead of its time here and I really truly hope it survives because the food is wonderful, so I will generally be encouraging everyone I know to visit when they’re in Tuscany!
We plan to go back before we leave for sure!
