Part of chain throughout the city offering Mexican vegetarian breakfast, lunch, dinner - egg omelets, ensaladas (salads), enchiladas, breads, juices, and meals of the day. Cheese is used in many dishes, so ask for without cheese if vegan. Located on a promenade. NOV 2012 REPORTED BY HAPPYCOW MEMBER CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP AND NO LONGER PURE VEG.

Disappointing - Edit
This place makes me sad - it was frankly the worst meal we had in Mexico.
Read moreMy veggie burger was burnt, yet mysteriously not hot. It may have tasted okay otherwise. My chips where freezer variety, and not thoroughly cooked (cold inside, nor crisp). My wife had huevo rancheros that were cold.
Just as cold was the service - grumpy sums it up in a word.
Pros: Location, Outdoor seating
Cons: Bad food, Bad service

el vegetariano - Edit
the staff is very helpful. there are menus in english and there was a woman who spoke english there, they were willing to adjust the food in the menu of the day to make it all vegan. the atmosphere was very nice, there is live music there. we went back to eat there three times during our week in mexico city. the menu of the day is a very good deal, 57 pesos for salad, soup, juice, bread, 2 entrees, and a dessert.

Just okay - Edit
Mostly ovo & lacto vegetarian foods that taste average, but at least it's vegetarian. There is a counter with stools for sitting as well as tables. I think the vegetarian restaurant on Madero around the corner is better.

Cons: a bit boring on taste, average selections, uninviting decor
