The deli is where it’s at!!!

I went to town and was so excited to see so many vegan options so I filled up a container and gladly paid the $27 for it. Lovely store and lovely food!!

Vegetarian / Vegan Food Market Galore!

I was thrilled to learn about this fully Vegetarian / Vegan market on O’ahu! They have several markets around the island. I was very impressed to see a large collection of - non-perishable, packaged, prepared, foods and a little buffet food / salad bar and dessert / snack options too! I will say that I rated it a 4/5 stars because the two dishes I had lacked in overall flavour. The mixed food dish had different flavours for the different dishes which was nice but it was semi-subtle. The salad had a lot of flavour only where the dressing was but the salad was yummy nonetheless. (I love salads! And yes I am aware I over sauced it!). I eat a lot though and my two plates together priced by the pound and I could have bought a decent amount of groceries for what I paid, but zero regrets!

Pros: Endless vegan options! , Variety of food types , Convenient

Cons: Expensive, Subtle flavour

great vegan food near Pearl Harbor

Down to Earth grocery was 6 minutes from the Pearl Harbor visitor center and satisfied with about a dozen vegan hot items and another bunch of fresh salad bar items, including a delicious spinach Hawaiian “luau” curry (mild), breakfast burritos, various roasted potatoes, several tofu curries and stews, brown rice and quinoa. They have additional made-to-order stir-fry bowls but we were too hungry to wait. We rounded out our meal with drinks from their large selection of cold juices and kombuchas, then sat upstairs in the small, air-conditioned balcony seating area. The big semi-shaded parking lot is an added plus at this location. (Down to Earth is a local chain of grocery stores.)

Very mixed

The restaurant has plenty of options and had me gazing everywhere like a kid in a candy shop- the only thing is that it’s vegetarian so a lot of the things have milk, cheese or eggs and sometimes on the packaged cold sandwiches/burritos/ etc. It doesn’t even note it as an allergen. If it was vegan- I would hope that they would state in the ingredients that it is vegan- but otherwise that’s my biggest gripe. Otherwise, fun experience personally.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Reasonable pricing , Quick service

Cons: Vegetarian vs vegan

Down to Earth has never sold eggs nor have them in any of their food. Just Milk and Cheese.

Awesome vegan sandwiches and baked goods!

Lots of vegan options here, this place is 100% vegetarian. The pre-made vegan sandwiches are great (I got a tomato avocado with cheeze), baked goods are great and everything is clearly labeled. They also had a place to order hot foods which I didn't try but it looked good. Local produce and all natural health and beauty section too! The cashier was lovely and recommended some great vegan spots to us.

Great Spot

Would recommend their value menu and smoothies! The vegan breakfast burritos are also another favorite. Their donuts taste a lot like cake so if you feel like cake that’s a good option. In terms of cookies, the vegan s’mores one is incredible!

Great to buffet

Quick grab and go options and screen self order options. Their beer burger is amazing. There are always multiple vegan options on the buffet. Mostly eco friendly packing but still use plastics.
The grocery selection is good too.

Pros: Many vegan options, Easy free parking, Clean store

Cons: None

Down to Earth - Pearlridge

Located next to the old Toys R Us, Down to Earth offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan foods. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, great deals, but unfortunately no longer have a loyalty program.

They have a great hot and salad bar, order to go foods, bulk section as well as grab and go prepared foods. Ample seating either upstairs or outside. Vegan sandwiches, cakes, pies, tofu musubi, vegan hot and bbq wings are a sample of choices in the prepared foods section. Alkaline water filing station.

Very clean and organized with a great vitamin and health section.

Pros: Vegan Options, Free Parking, Friendly Staff

Great place for both grocery and eating out

Down to Earth does not serve or sell meat and all of their food options are either vegetarian or vegan. They have a juice bar, a salad bar, and a good selection of pre-made sandwiches, baked goods, pizza, etc. All vegan or vegetarian. They have a nice produce selection. Also Down to Earth has an awesome selection of vitamins and supplements, veg protein powder and bars. They are a health food store. Down to Earth has incense and different organic veg-friendly toiletries. They have vegan makeup also, in case you need. All in all, it’s a great store for any of your veg grocery/food needs. As well as health food and organic products in general. When I lived in Hawaii, it was always my go to.

Pros: Everything tastes amazing , Great, wide selection, Both grocery and prepared food

Cons: Store is relatively small (not a big deal at all)

INSANE selection of vegan food!

I'm visiting from Toronto Canada and I've never seen such a huge selection of vegan food in one place before. I am in LOVE. I never wanted to leave the place, I honestly wish we had this store in Toronto. I literally can't get over this place. Prepared warm vegan food too!

Pros: Prepared warm and cold vegan food (pizza, wraps, e, Prices not bad at all, Massive selection

Cons: Could expand to have some more big name brands lik

The ONLY place I shop!

While living in Pearl City (I no longer live on Oahu), but this was the only place I shopped. I'm addicted to their Down to Earth burgers! Visiting again soon, and that's the first thing I want! Their burritos & quesadillas are also very yummy. I've also had a few of their vegan chocolate treats, very good!
The staff is here is so friendly and always helpful.
I wish this store was on the mainland where I live now.

Pros: Vegan!, The burgers, friendly staff

Cons: Small space

Now with Vegan & Gluten-free Options in Cafe

It's a vegetarian health food store with a salad bar, hot food bar, deli with burgers/wraps/sandwiches, organic produce, frozen items, baked items (vegan options too), toiletries, makeup, vitamins.

I am vegan and I had the veggie burger made vegan, coconut macadamia vegan mylkshake, thai red curry and yellow curry. I really enjoyed the curries, though a bit pricey at $9.99/lb. If I was big eater I might spend $20 for lunch! The mylkshake was also very ono (delicious)!

It's not as big as other health food stores or cafes, but it's a good option if you live west of honolulu to avoid heading into the daunting traffic in town.

Pros: great thai red curry, vegan options for cafe, only vegetarian place in area

Cons: smaller store than others on oahu, can be pricey

Not as vegan as Honolulu location

We stopped here after our visit to Pearl Harbor looking for the same yummy vegan shakes we'd had at the Honolulu location, but they were only dairy here. We bought a couple of cold deli items to supplement our brown bag lunch and ate at the tables outside.

Pros: deli , easy parking , outdoor seating

Cons: dairy only shakes

At the Down to Earth Natural Foods on Maui, the manager told me that any non-vegan smoothie can be made vegan.
