great vegan soup

Really great vegan soup, the tomato one is amazing, the soup buffet at 95SEK is good value with soup, bread, cake (ask for vegan cake and you get a chocolate ball), coffee or tea

they have vegan muffins!

Its nice to be able to come for coffee and be able to have a vegan treat as well. (Espresso house has vegan chocolate ball too!) Their vegan sandwich tastes pretty weird but its decent (i think its hommus?) But the lunch buffet salads were yum

Pros: one type vegan muffin, one vegan sandwich, good veggie lunch

One of my regular haunts!

I have taken a huge shine to condeco with their fairtrade and green policies. Mondays is Green Monday and the whole menu is veggie. Monday to Friday they have a great salad buffet, bread, dressing to go with what you order. This even includes filter coffee or tea. I had all this and a soup for 65kr. This deal applies only at lunchtimes Mon-Fri. In the evenings and weekends there is no salad bar, but they still have warm food on offer. This is one of the few places you can have a beer or glass of wine with your meal. If you are on a budget get their free Condeco card and load with some money. You get an extra 10% off what buy in store and 20% off take away coffee/tea.

Pros: Friendly staff, Speak excellent English

Cons: No salad bar on the weekend!

new-style cafe/restaurant with fair-trade products

I had a warm dinner dish which was very good. Beer is available also. I did not have anything else, but at least the coffee is said to be fair-trade and organic, which is a big plus from my side. The decorations are nice. In November when I was there were not many people, thus not much noise. The staff girls are friendly and patient (with an undecided character like me).

If you are into shopping, thus going in the area, you should definitely plan to have lunch or dinner in this place, in between your shopping.

Pros: good warm dish, nice staff, nice decoration

Many Locations to Choose From

This is a food and coffee shop with many locations throughout the popular shopping and restaurant areas in Gothenburg. There are often many nice outside tables and a large indoor area. It is very nice for coffee but they have "Veg Mondays" with all vegetarian entrees for lunch and dinner these days.

Pros: Vegetarian, Coffee, Nice seating

Cons: Limited Vegan offer

Nice Option

It is a bit expensive for what you get, so I only would really go there for coffee, or if there is no other vegan place around. But they are patient about veganism, can make any of the hot drinks or smoothies with soya milk and have options for what to eat, including a vegan muffin for dessert.

Also the coffee is fair trade and you can hang out there as long as you need.

Pros: Fair trade, Friendly

Cons: Bit expensive

Fast "fika"

If you need to get a coffee and want something close this chain of cafes are good for a quick break in the middle of the city. The sandwich called "hälsomackan" is white bread with tomato-hummus and it's very tasty. The muffin is also tasty.

Pros: central, buffet, you know what you get

Cons: noisy, unpersonal
