Worst experience. I’d give it no stars, but can’t remove it. - Edit
Despite there being some 10+ people working there, nobody was knowledgeable on what was vegan. As though I was the first to have ever asked such a bizarre question.
Read moreInitially they told me the granola wasn’t vegan. After checking, they said it was.
When I asked if there was honey, they said honey was vegan. A customer mocked me and the staff laughed at honey not being vegan, saying it was news to them.
They continued to serve patrons who arrived and ordered after me. They made me wait for half an hour for basic açaí bowls and a smoothie. I had not asked for anything special, as the honey was added at the end.
Also something gross was the staff were wearing gloves but they’d often take them off and use their hands. One person scratched her head and touched her hair, then continued to cut strawberries without gloves or washing her hands.
Cons: Rude/ mocking vegan family, Terrible service. Served everyone else before us, Not knowledgeable on what is vegan

Chain food - Edit
Glad there is something vegan around the mall, but ... Service was really bad. Five people who came in after me got served before me. The food felt low quality like Cost Co bulk ingredients. The bowl I was made was mostly granola and very little açaí. Not sure the granola is vegan. The honey def appears to be cut with corn syrup, though I didn’t eat it so I’m just saying based on appearance. Anyway, if there are ZERO vegan options otherwise, this place has a few: smoothies and bowls. But they gotta work on their service, quality and prep consistency.

Acai bowl place - Edit
I had read about this place on HappyCow and was in town (June 2014), so I went in for a look. Here's my Backyard Bowls review.
Read moreNot so much a restaurant as we would expect but an acai bowl and smoothies bar. You could get a variety of toppings with your bowl. We got a basic one with acai berries and fruit. Tasted good.

excellent find - Edit
I had the Acaí breakfast bowl and couldn't have been happier! Added strawberries and bananas and used agave Instead of honey.
Read moreLarge portions. Awesome little spot, will definitely return next time I'm in town.
This is an excellent breakfast spot for vegans and those interested in following The China Study's whole food, plant based diet.
Pros: delicious, large portions, a lot of options
