Serves meat, vegan options available. Ethiopian and Eritrean food prepared for the western palate, since Mar 2011. Some dishes are vegetarian, i.e. spiced vegetables, lentils, and potatoes, and you could get a vegetarian combo platter. Food is served with injera bread. Staff offers you a traditional hot towel before dining. Atmosphere is cozy with upstairs/downstairs dining. Gets busy at dinner time, so arrive early. Good Vegan Eats

Although they serve meat, Abyssinia has a section of their menu listed as "vegetarian", but all vegetarian options are vegan as well! The ater kik is delicious, and I could eat injera by the pound! So yummy. Definitely coming back for more.

Pros: Several vegan selections, Delicious , Inexpensive

Cons: Serves meat, Needs more employees

Wonderful Vegan Delights

The extensive vegan menu is scrumptious with options for single dish servings or large combination platters served atop delicious injera. True to good Ethiopian food, some dishes are spicy but are usually coupled with a vegetable cool-down on the side. The appetizers, like the veggie sambussas, are heavenly, crisped to a lovely golden hue. The salads, such as beets and potatoes drizzled in olive oil and lemon, are also delightful. They offer an assortment of nice teas and some tasty sodas. For religious reasons, they do not serve alcohol, but note that all dishes marked vegetarian are also vegan. There are meat-based dishes on the menus, but since half of the menu is vegetarian-vegan, it is difficult to not find something wonderful to eat.

Pros: variety of food, extent of vegan menu, politeness of servers

Cons: small dining area
