Tasty and kind - Edit
Hidden away in an industrial type building is a cafe that prides itself on good, local food.
Read moreOwner and staff very nice and helpful. Helped me select the Roll in the Garden without cheese for my vegan lifestyle.
It was a very good achiole tortilla with grated carrot, pea shoots, baby spinach, avocado, lettuce, and a tasty kick of honey mustard sauce.
There's only 1-2 other vegan dishes with a couple salads, but the one I tasted today will have me coming back for it or trying another. I was hoping to try the tomato or squash soup, but both were made with chicken stock. Happy about their honesty though.
Pros: tasty
Cons: limited options

Annapolis Local Food Headquarters! - Edit
One of Annapolis' true hidden gems,  A Cook's Cafe has something for everyone! With several Vegetarian sandwiches and the recent addition of two Vegan sandwiches, A Cook's Cafe is fast becoming a home away from home for people who adhere to a Plant- based diet. You can choose from several delicious salads or daily  Vegetarian  and Vegan  specials. There are no Vegetarian restaurants in Annapolis, so finding good food takes some effort in Anne Arundel County. Along with the respect shown for Vegans and Vegetarians, A Cook's Cafe is at the forefront of the Slow/Local Food movement in the Capitol of Maryland. Craig, the Owner has been sourcing veggies from local farms for several years. He runs a CSA (Community Sponsored Agriculture) program that has recently partnered with One Straw Farm as the supplier. The CSA program connects local Annapolitians with fresh and seasonal produce from June to November. He also has a Market Basket Program where Produce, Organic Eggs, Cheese, and Dairy Products can be purchased year round. This year they are celebrating their 10 year anniversary. This is a TRUE mom and pop doing things the right way. They would love and could use your business, so stop in and get some lunch and see how to get plugged in and support local Maryland Farmers. Tell them Meals sent ya!
