Shop at PCC!

As other posters have noted, this is a smaller store compared to other locations BUT it has all the same great produce and pantry items a vegan could ever ask for.

Smaller PCC compared to some others but good options

The produce is really good, almost all organic. All the basics that I buy in one easy trip. The deli is a little limited for vegan but you wont go hungry.

love PCC

My favorite place to shop. Supports local farmers, produce is always fresh, carries almost everything I choose to eat. Awesome store.

They sell what?

Apparently, foie gras is a health food, along w bacon and all that.
We now debate with the staff at various PCCs if they themselves consider PCC a HF store. There were more "no's" than you might think. It seems that despite their commitment to labeling GMOs and that approach, there are a lot of ugly offerings (as far as it relates to this website - vegans in mind).
Since when is deep fried catfish a health food?
The maddest employee at the suggestion that PCC was not a HF store anymore suggested the bacon being sugar-free made it a HF store.
A different employee suggested that the foie gras was ethically derived.
There's a lot of horse manure you have to step aside. I didn't always mind the costs associated with being a member, I sort of blocked out the animal offerings. But the foie was put ever too close to a spreadable cashew cheez and I nearly hit the floor.
If you are interested in honest review, a true assessment, you'll see very little in their deli that is offered to vegans or that is healthy. Despite some of the lovely individuals who work there, I think its time to view the PCCs in the area as specialty stores rather than HF stores.

Another discrepancy, a disingenuous omission is they direct mail every week all over the region even where I live some 20+miles away from the nearest one. Remember your cloth bag so as to not waste paper. They ought to have their member receipts emailed and coupons too, yet everyone w a mailbox gets a newspaper. More interested in making $$ than playing the part and being real, genuine. Think they should be called out for it as funk fakers.

The local grocers now carry similar enough products that are og produce or a few dry goods that are typical of a HF store that to be a HF store oughtn't we expect a lot more?
